A few things about it
Danny Starr is a self-taught artist whose oil painting style combines the techniques of classical figure painting and abstract expressionism. Danny explores philosophical ideas on the nature of reality, human condition, life and death, and self-care. The subjects in his work are emerged in a surreal dreamscape created out of the relationships between his varying techniques.
When beginning a painting he begins very loose with chaotic strokes, splatters, and bleeds. He then becomes more constructed as he forms his figures into their surroundings, developing and often combining them within the chaotic abstract scape.
Through painting in this manner, Danny hopes to give the invisible, metaphysical aspects of existence their proper awareness in the human mind through visual symbolism. In his work he applies harmony using geometry, and beauty using the human figure to reflect his genuine optimism and hope.
